Looking
Ahead
A
message from Lucas City Council member, Debbie
Fisher
Thank you Lucas residents for your vote, your support and all your hard work! My work now continues to preserve what we all moved here for!
...................................
Looking forward, many of our challenges wear familiar
faces. I initially ran for council with the intent of
preserving the lifestyle that Lucas citizens enjoy today.
During my first term on council, we accomplished a major
milestone in preserving Lucas by removing apartments
and high-density housing from the 2003 Comprehensive Plan.
Population growth
will continue to increase and developers will continue
to view Lucas as a source of income rather than a country
town to preserve for current and future generations of
families to enjoy.

|
And yet, I am more optimistic now than I have ever
been about the future of Lucas this community
is uniquely positioned to sustain the challenges of
preserving large lots. Our citizens are second to
none, and I believe their involvement in Lucas city
affairs is the sole reason we have managed to preserve
our unique lifestyle.
Just as I did three years ago, I am making a commitment
to be held accountable for preserving our large lots,
being fiscally responsible with your tax dollars and
serving ALL citizens of Lucas should you choose to
re-elect me as a Lucas City Council member.

Service
Goals Accomplished
as Lucas City Council Member
- Purchased and remodeled a new city hall that citizens can be proud of without raising taxes or issuing bonds.
-
-
Provided strong support for the Lucas Volunteer Fire Department and through our volunteer firefighter's hard work and dedication, Lucas Fire Department ISO rating has been upgraded to a "3".
This is almost unheard of for a volunteer fire department.
Lucas homeowners should see the cost of their home insurance drop once they notify their home insurance companies of the new rating.
- Insuring
citizens are informed of happenings in the city and have
information we have learned at committee meetings and seminars.
-
Established a schedule for water projects and road improvements and maintenance
projects that meet the citizens' needs before they are a problem..
- Personal research found proof of previously established city boundary lines and kept ETJ areas from being claimed by other cities.
- Continue
to research all sides of an issue and make sure citizens
have an opportunity to be heard before Council decisions
are made.
- Hired staff that is professional, knowledgeable and responsive
to the city's needs.
- Encouraged
more citizen involvement and have more citizens involved
in our city
